South End Walking Loop

Bester Community of Hope created the South End Walking Loop in downtown Hagerstown. The route passes several community locations and the whole route is equal to walking a 5k!

Sideling Hill Wildlife

The overriding goal of the Sideling Hill WMA in eastern Allegany and western Washington Counties is to provide forest wildlife habitat and protection for water quality in Sideling Hill Creek. Bird watching and hiking are popular uses of this area. Trails are maintained but not actively marked. Canoeing in Sideling Hill Creek is only possible during the spring melt. Please be aware that hunting is allowed. Be aware of open hunting seasons and visit accordingly. Season dates available in newspapers, on the internet, and at some area stores.

Walking & Fitness Path

The Arc of Washington County has an outdoor walking and fitness path. The path is accessible during daylight hours only. There are no public restrooms.

North End Fitness Path

A hard surfaced walking or rolling (handicapped accessible) path through the therapeutic gardens and facility grounds at Western Maryland Hospital Center. The Fletcher Fitness trail includes both able bodied and handicap accessible fitness equipment for use. Parking is available on site. Start at the fish pond in front of the building and follow the numbered signs to complete route of the FitPath.

Black Rock Golf Course

Walking is permitted Monday-Friday at any time and after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays during the months of April-October.

Rose Hill Cemetery

Rose Hill Cemetery has walking trails and a walking club that is free and open to the public. The cemetery also offers a self-guided walking tour map that locates the burial sites of the most notable Civil War era residents of the cemetery. It also includes burial site locations of notable politicians as well as inventors and industry leaders.
