January 1st First Day Hikes America's State Parks

Time of Event: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Meeting Location: Meet at Greenbrier State Park Visitor Center (will be directed to start at Gazebo #1 in Day Use) 21843 National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713
Degree of Difficulty: Moderate hike, Self-guided, Great for experienced hikers and families with older children
Length of Hike: Approximate distance of 2.5 miles
Things to Bring: Dress for the weather! Wear warm layers and the appropriate footwear (i.e. waterproof hiking boots). Bring a water bottle or mug for refreshments at the Visitor Center after your hike.
RSVP: please call the Greenbrier Visitor Center at (301) 791-4656. RSVP’s are encouraged but not required.
Additional Information: Enjoy a challenging, self-guided hike around Greenbrier State Park. Following the Lakeside Loop Trail starting at Gazebo #1 in the Day Use area, follow the orange blazes around the lake to the Copperhead Trail (green blazes), then Big Red trail (red blazes), and back to the Lakeside Loop Trail (orange blazes) for a total of about 2.5 miles. Dogs on lead are welcome.
