The Hagerstown City Park offers numerous paved walking paths and connects to the downtown via the new Cultural Trail. In addition to walking, some areas allow bicycling and dogs. Parking, restrooms, and food concessions are also available.
The Mountain Lock Recreation Area offers access to the C&O Canal and has a small parking lot off Limekiln Road near Lock 37.
Marty Snook Memorial Park includes a 1 mile fitness trail.
The Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT) is a recreational, paved, linear trail opened to the public for walking, running, biking, and inline skating. The trail is suited to anyone seeking a pleasant, leisurely outdoor experience. The easy grade and paved surface make this trail ideal for families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The WMRT is wheelchair accessible. Pets are permitted on the trail.
The Hub City Bike Loop begins and ends at the same point in Fairgrounds Park. The loop passes through four city parks and two historic districts. The loop is 10 miles and includes off-street paths, on-street bike lanes and lanes shared with vehicles. The loop is best suited for experienced cyclists.
